In the roguelite genre, Shell Survivor is an exciting 2D top-down battle shooter. The game was made and released by Azgames, and when it came out, it got a lot of praise. In this fast-paced battle in space, players are thrown into a hostile arena where they have to fight waves of alien monsters over and over again.

The ultimate goal is to make it through all enemy attacks, boost your character's stats, and beat the last few bosses in order to escape the alien planet.

How to Play Shell Survivor

The Loop of the Survival Wave

Survival time is running out: This picture shows 20 different waves. Every one lasts for twenty to sixty seconds. I promise you that as the timer goes off, things get even crazy and busier.

Allow the automatic fire to do its job: Do not stress about clicking. Your character instantly locks on to and fires at the closest alien. You only need to concentrate on moving quickly and dodging projectiles that are coming at you.

Get those green things; when monsters die, they drop glowing green shards. You need to quickly grab them because they give you experience points to level up and money to spend in the shop.

Weapons and How to Use the Shop

Yes, you heard that right. You can rock six weapons at once. Up to six guns can be held and fired at the same time. Also, when you match guns of the same class, they give you special bonuses that make the game impossible to win.

Shopping between rounds: The shop gives you time to breathe after each wave. You can buy new guns with the materials you've worked hard for, use items to improve your stats, or combine weapons to make them rarer.

Complete freedom to build: the repeat value is crazy. You can become a full-on melee tank, change your class to a space mage with elemental effects, or hide behind automated turrets as an engineer.

Controls for the game

Getting a handle on the battle doesn't take much work:

  • You can move around by pressing WASD or the Arrow Keys.
  • No shooting at all! In its normal state, it is fully automated.
  • If you want to take a break and look at your stats, press Esc or P.
